Tish Stew
Teacher
Howdy! My name is Tishia Stewart and I’m
from Clovis, New Mexico. However, I
currently reside in Queen Creek. While here,
I have the absolute honor to guide student
learning at Jewell School.
My love of natural history and science runs
deep. My mission for the past 20+ years has
been to IGNITE kid’s interests in the vast
field of science. From space and rockets,
geology to wetland habitats, dinosaurs to
marine biology and more! They learn early
on that “Science is COOL!”
I earned my BA degree in the Natural History
of the American Southwest Deserts and
Environmental Science (focused on the
Southern High Plains Aquifer). I am a
certified Texas Master Naturalist; an Amazon
Explore guide; NatGeo Educator; and an
internationally certified ICP mountain bike
instructor.
Throughout the year, as time allows, you’ll
find me working on a number of wildlife
projects with AZ Game and Fish and US Fish
and Wildlife Service. Or, somewhere in the
Southwest coaching mountain biking.
I have two grown children. My son, Daniel,
and my daughter, Heather. Both of whom I
homeschooled many moons ago and each
pursuing their own interests in chemistry and
veterinary science.
